Raids on cockfight arenas

The city and rural police conducted raids on cockfight arenas and gambling centres in the city and rural areas.According to rural police, they registered 29 cases against 145 persons, 77 cocks and Rs 1,48,637 cash were seized in Narsipatnam, Yelamanchali, Chodavaram, Pendurthy, Anakapalle and other rural areas.
Visakhapatnam: The city and rural police conducted raids on cockfight arenas and gambling centres in the city and rural areas.According to rural police, they registered 29 cases against 145 persons, 77 cocks and Rs 1,48,637 cash were seized in Narsipatnam, Yelamanchali, Chodavaram, Pendurthy, Anakapalle and other rural areas.
Cases were registered against 77 persons and Rs 1,39,018 cash was seized under Gambling Prevention Act. Meanwhile, the city police registered six cases against 20 for indulging in cock-fights and seized Rs 30,000. Some alleged that police are leaving big fish in the city and conducting raids on villages.
