Tirupati: Opposition leader and YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of cheating the BCs for the last four years by not sanctioning adequate funds for BC sub-plan. He said Naidu had assured Rs 10,000 crore for BC sub-plan per year but nothing had happened.

Jaganmohan Reddy interacted with some BC leaders at Papanaidupet village under Yerpedu mandal in Chittoor district as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra on Wednesday evening.

During the meeting, Jagan promised to allot MLA and MLC seats to BCs in proper ration and criticised the TDP government for “completely neglecting” them.

He also promised that the government would bear the entire expenses of education of children from BC communities up to post-graduation and would sanction Rs 20,000 for hostel expenses to each student thus relieving parents of financial burden if the party was voted to power next time.

He continued his yatra on 64th day in Padiredu village in Nagari constituency. Bujji, a woman activist of YSRCP from Vadamalpet mandal, complained to the party chief that three TDP firms namely Galla Foods, Srini Foods and Heritage were continuously cheating farmers by unilaterally fixing price of mangoes and “looting” them.
She requested him to make all the mango-based companies function under a cooperative society to curb the exploitation of farmers. She also demanded a mango processing factory in the district. Jagan assured that he would look into it and take steps for the welfare of mango farmers once YSRCP forms the government.

A contract employee of Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) Basha and a few other his colleagues met the YSRCP chief at Ruvulavari Kandriga village to seek his intervention for enhancement of wages and regularisation of their services.

The JKC employees submitted a petition to him with demands including raising of pay from Rs 12, 000 to 31, 500 on par with salaries of the contract lecturers in degree colleges.
