Rajamahendravaram: Two persons died and three others were injured in a road mishap that took place at Gammon India bridge near Rajanagaram on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as N Lakshmi Tulasi and her brother G Shivaji. The injured children of Lakshmi Tulasi, Dhanu Sri and Nihal, were undergoing treatment at government headquarters hospital.

According to Rajanagaram police, the mishap occurred when an unidentified vehicle hit the car of victims, who parked their vehicle on roadside to replace the punctured tyre. The unidentified vehicle driver along with his vehicle was at large.

Police said N Lakshmi Tulasi along with her children came to Indukuripeta of Gokavaram mandal from Hyderabad on January 13 to celebrate Sankranti festival. After festival, when Tulasi is returning to Hyderabad along with her brother in a car, the mishap occurred.

The injured were shifted to Rajamahendravaram government headquarters hospital in 108 ambulance. Autopsy was conducted to bodies and handed over to their family members. A case was registered.
