A 32-year-old farm labourer was brutally murdered by unknown assailants at G Kothapalli village in Dwaraka Tirumala mandal on Thursday. According to police, Ganta Venkatrao, 32, an agriculture labourer of G Kothapalli village in Dwaraka Tirumala mandal went to his mother-in-law’s house during Sankranti festival at Kodigudem village in the mandal along with his wife and children. 

Eluru: A 32-year-old farm labourer was brutally murdered by unknown assailants at G Kothapalli village in Dwaraka Tirumala mandal on Thursday. According to police, Ganta Venkatrao, 32, an agriculture labourer of G Kothapalli village in Dwaraka Tirumala mandal went to his mother-in-law’s house during Sankranti festival at Kodigudem village in the mandal along with his wife and children.

On Wednesday, he alone returned to G Kothapalli by saying to family members that he had some work in the village. His mother also living in a portion of his house separately. On Wednesday night, Venkatrao went out after taking his dinner along with another person to liquor shop.

After that, some unknown persons attacked him with knives and stabbed him in the neck and other parts. Venkatrao succumbed to stabbing injuries on the spot. The assailants took the body to his house and throw it in his house in the night. On Thursday morning, his mother Mariamma went to his portion to wake him up. When she opened the door, Venkatrao was lying in a pool of blood.

After seeing the son’s body, she shouted for help. The neighbours immediately reached there and informed the police. The police with clues team and fingerprint experts reached the spot. They also pressed dog squad into service. The clues team and fingerprint experts have taken the fingerprints on the body of Venkatrao.

Eluru DSP K Eswara Rao and Bhimadole Circle Inspector Nayak also reached the spot. A suspicious death case was registered in Dwaraka Tirumala police station.
