Anantapur: CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of trying to deceive the people with his statements like going to Supreme Court against the Union government for not implementing the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014. He said that the Chief Minister whiled away time by not initiating any action during this nearly four years rule and is now finally coming up with misleading statements like taking a legal recourse against the Centre.

Ramakrishna, in a release here on Sunday, maintained that if Naidu was really serious about getting justice to the beleaguered state, he should first ask his MPs to quit the Union Cabinet and come out openly against the betrayal by the Central government. By doing so they should exert pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to render justice to AP.

The CPI state secretary said that the TDP was enjoying power both at the Centre and in the state and by approaching the Supreme Court for justice, it wants to shirk its own political responsibility. The courts cannot be made a scapegoat because of the omissions and commissions of ruling parties, he quipped. The Modi-Naidu duo has taken the people for a ride and betrayed the people of AP, he said.

The CPI state secretary said that the forthcoming state CPI meeting in Kadapa would discuss issues concerning the state, including Special Category Status, implementation of the AP Reorganisation Act and would pass resolutions in this regard.
