Aqua Devils swim across the Krishna
Aqua Devil\'s Welfare Association ADWA organised a river swimming competition from Durga Ghat to southern side of Krishna River on Sunday. The competition was inaugurated by Narasapuram MP Gokaraju Gangaraju and Vijayawada City Police Commissioner Gowtham Sawang.
Vijayawada: Aqua Devil's Welfare Association ADWA organised a river swimming competition from Durga Ghat to southern side of Krishna River on Sunday. The competition was inaugurated by Narasapuram MP Gokaraju Gangaraju and Vijayawada City Police Commissioner Gowtham Sawang.
About 150 participants took part in the competition of all age groups above 5 years. Boys, girls, men and women actively took part in the competition. About 30 boats with experienced swimmers, life jackets, plastic ropes, medical aid was deployed for the safety of the participants. The winners were given prizes by Vijayawada’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kanti Rana Tata.
The names of the winners are as follows:
5 -15 years category boys: S Sesha Kiran, Vishnuvarjala Ahish, Rohan Aradhya.
Girls: G Sarayu Reddy, B Alankrathi, Dimple.
16-30 years category boys: N Sai Sampath, MK Pavan Raj, Booma Gowatham Surya. 31 – 45 years category winners are P Siva Ganesh, Dr K Krishna Chaitanya, K Joginder Singh. 46-60 years category winners are K Venkat Rao, M KoteswaraRao and Dr Dasari Gangadhar. 60 years above category B Suryanarayana, A Krishna Reddy and K Krishna Rao.
