Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Minister of State for Science and Technology Y. S. Chowdary on Sunday that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will continue to press the Centre for more funds for the state.

"During the meeting of Union Budget, no allocations to Andhra Pradesh were discussed. We will continue to press the centre for it. We will also raise the matter in the Parliament, if it is needed," said Chowdary while addressing the media after a crucial meeting Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

He also said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has not spoken to Shiv Sena, another rebel party that recently announced that it would contest the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly and Lok Sabha elections alone.

"Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu did not speak to Shiv Sena. There has been no communication between Amit Shah and the chief minister either," Chowdary added.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu held a crucial meeting with the party MPs, senior MLAs and leaders in Amaravati on Sunday.

The meeting was reportedly called to review the party's ties with its ally Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Naidu is apparently upset with the saffron party over the poor allocation for the state in the Union Budget 2018 that was presented on February 1 by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
