YSR Congress party, Congress and Jana Sena have backed the bandh and participated in the agitational programmes across the state. The government has declared holiday for schools as a precautionary measure.
According to media reports, some Jana Sena workers held a novel protest in Eluru. They staged the protest by eating grass.
