Two devotees of Lord Siva were dead in a road accident after a lorry hit their motorbike on Srisailam Ghat road between the borders of Kurnool and Prakasam districts in the early hours of Friday.

Kurnool: Two devotees of Lord Siva were dead in a road accident after a lorry hit their motorbike on Srisailam Ghat road between the borders of Kurnool and Prakasam districts in the early hours of Friday. The deceased were identified as Madhusudhan (32) and Chandrappa (35), both residents of Gundepalle village in Vikarabad district of Telangana state.

According to police, the victims, along with 10 other friends, set on a pilgrimage to Srisailam temple on motor bikes. After having darshan of the Lord Siva at Srisailam, they were returning to Gundepalle. When they reached the Nallamala forest, a lorry laden with gas cylinders rammed their motor cycle. In the incident, the duo died on the spot and others escaped unhurt, said the police.

Dornala police have registered a case and the bodies were shifted to Atmakur Government Hospital for autopsy. The lorry driver fled from the scene and he is yet to be arrested. The information was sent to the family members of the deceased, said the cops. With the unfortunate incident, the family members and friends of the deceased are soaked with grief.
