On the fourth day of Mahasivaratri Brahmotsavams on Friday, special pooja was offered to the deities in the yagashala of the shrine here followed by japas for the people’s welfare. ‘Mandaparadhana’, ‘panchavarchana’, ‘nityahavan’, ‘rudra homam’, ‘chandi homam’ were conducted as per the Agama Sastras.

Srisailam Project: On the fourth day of Mahasivaratri Brahmotsavams on Friday, special pooja was offered to the deities in the yagashala of the shrine here followed by japas for the people’s welfare. ‘Mandaparadhana’, ‘panchavarchana’, ‘nityahavan’, ‘rudra homam’, ‘chandi homam’ were conducted as per the Agama Sastras.

In the evening ‘pradashakala pooja’ and ‘japanushtanalu’ were organised. The deities were paraded in the main streets during the Mayura Vahanaseva dressed in Akkammadevi Alankaram.

‘Pattu vastralu’ on behalf of the Kanipakam Devasthanam were presented to the deities by the EO. The devasthanam representatives were welcomed at the temple’s Rajagopuram by officials, archakas. Srisailam EO Bharath Gupta presented the deities’ ‘seshavastram’ and ‘prasadam’ to the visitors.

TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal later presented silk vastrams to the deities. He was given traditional welcome, accompanied by ‘melathalalu’ at the rajagopuram. In the past, kings and their family members used to present silk clothing to the deities during utsavams.
