Ready for sacrifices to protect interests of State, asserts CM

Guntur: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that he is ready for any sacrifices to safeguard interests of the State and to ensure that the promises made in AP Reorganisation Act-2014 were fulfilled by the Centre.

Naidu pointed out that he went to Delhi 29 times and requested the Centre to fulfill assurances mentioned in the Bifurcation Act. In spite of it, injustice was meted out to the State in the recent Union Budget which is the last full-fledged Budget before the next General Elections.

He said the State government would readily provide the details of the assistance provided by the Centre to AP so far. He said he was ready to make any sacrifices to protect the interests of the State.

Chandrababu Naidu addressed a public meeting at Kakani in Narasaraopet mandal after laying the foundation stone for the construction of buildings of JNTU -Kakinada campus at a cost Rs 150 crore.

He said it is the responsibility of the Centre to extend a helping hand to the newly formed AP and till it achieves development on par with other States.

Naidu said as the Centre neglected AP in the Union Budget-2018, people of the State were feeling that injustice was caused to the State. This has prompted the TDP MPs to take up a protest in Parliament to fulfill the assurances made in the State Reorganisaton Act. The Chief Minister sought cooperation of 5 crore people of the State in the struggle to ensure justice to the State.

Naidu pointed out that the previous UPA government dealt a huge blow to the State through unscientific bifurcation. He urged the NDA government to ensure justice is done to the State at least now.

Polavaram water for Palnadu region: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said Polavaram water will be provided to Palandu region very soon. He said the government was planning to construct a lift irrigation scheme on River Krishna and lift the water to solve irrigation water problem in Palnadu region.

He said farmers of Palnadu region have not been getting Nagarjunasagar water for the last few years and added that the government will call tenders to take up lift irrigation scheme works very soon.

Referring to education, he said he would bring world’s best universities to Amaravati to develop it as a educational hub and suggested to the students to select courses for which there is demand and scope to secure jobs. He felt colleges should turn into a research centres to show solutions to the people's problems.

He lauded State Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao for developing Kotappakonda. Earlier, he laid the foundation stone for a ropeway to Kotappakonda hillock and visited eco-park. He also had darshan of Trikoteswara Swamy.Naidu also laid a foundation stone for the construction of Girls Social Welfare Residential School Complex.

Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Minister for Forests Sidda Raghava Rao, Civil Supplies Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao, Social Welfare Minister Nakka Ananda Babu, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Muncipal Administration Minister P Narayana attended the public meeting.
