Jangas want inclusion in SC list

Guntur: YSRCP BC Cell president and former MLA Janga Krishna Murthy demanded that the government cancel the GO No 144 immediately and continue GO No 84. He visited the indefinite relay fast camp conducted by the state Beda Jangam Hakkula Porata Simithi leaders at the Collectorate here on Wednesday.

Speaking on this occasion, he criticised that the government led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was least bothered about welfare of Jangas. He reminded that in a Nadyala by-elections public meeting, the CM promised to solve Beda Jangams problems and later he did nothing for them. He said that this caste was included in the list of SCs in other states.

When Chandrababu Naidu was opposition leader, he demanded SC status for Buda Jangas. While Beda Jangas were in the SCs in Maharashtra and Telangana, they had been facing a lot of problems in Andhra Pradesh. He demanded that the government complete the enquiry and remove them from open category in the state immediately.

If the YSRCP will come to power, he assured the government would include them in the list of SCs. State Beda Jangam Hakkua Porata Samithi, Andhra Pradesh president Yelamarthi Madhu participated in the indefinite relay fast camp.
