Visakhapatnam: Good news to denizens, who are fed up of paying a visit to Rythu Bazars to purchase veggies, now they can order them online. The department of marketing, which successfully launched e-Vegetable app in Vijayawada, is expanding the services in the city soon. Helping the farmers to promote online trading through eVegetables, the department is also funding the packing equipment and vehicles to deliver the goods to the customers.

An exclusive mobile app is being developed and likely to be launched the service next month. In all, 13 Rythu Bazars are located in the city and MVP Colony Rythu Bazar is one of the biggest and busiest bazars in the state. There is a huge demand for fresh vegetables in Rythu Bazars. After assessing the vegetables online trading, the department has decided to launch e-Vegetables through an exclusive app.

The department also decided to provide accommodation in the Rythu Bazars for grading vegetables and packing works. The department has also decided to procure the vehicles for the delivery. The department is exercising to provide employment opportunities to the children of the farmers in e-Marketing like delivery boys and workers in the packing and grading wings.

“Initially, we are launching the service at MVP Rythu Bazar and after looking at the ground report, the department will extend the services in the jurisdictions of the other Rythu Bazars. If the youth of the farmers come forward, e-Vegetables wing will be handed over to them and the department will supervise. For procurement of the vegetables online, one should purchase at least five kgs,” said deputy director of marketing PV Sudhakar told The Hans India.
