GITAM Institute of Pharmacy (GIP) organised a scientific and cultural symposium for pharmacy students, GITAM PHARMA FEST (GPF)-2k18 on ‘Caring beyond prescriptions – your health our priority’ here on Saturday. Over 600 delegates from various pharmacy institutions across the state participated in the event. 

Visakhapatnam: GITAM Institute of Pharmacy (GIP) organised a scientific and cultural symposium for pharmacy students, GITAM PHARMA FEST (GPF)-2k18 on ‘Caring beyond prescriptions – your health our priority’ here on Saturday. Over 600 delegates from various pharmacy institutions across the state participated in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal of GIP Prof S Ganapathy highlighted the need for patient counselling in proper usage of medicine.

He also briefed about the achievements of GIP for the academic year 2017-18 and also mentioned that the institute has applied research projects for various funding agencies for possible financial support. The institute is progressing in teaching and research activities, he added.

Pro Vice-Chancellor of GITAM Prof K Siva Ramakrishna inaugurated the GPF 2k18, and appreciated the efforts taken by the Institute of Pharmacy in conducting such events. He also told the importance of management skills in all-round development of pharmacy professionals.

General Manager of Divis Laboratories Limited Dr MSN Rao highlighted the importance of ethics and character in the pharmacy profession for better caring of patients. He stressed the need of hard work and sincerity in achieving success in life.
