Vijayawada: Commissioner of Police Gautam Sawang on Tuesday presented commendation certificates to the officers of Andhra Pradesh Drug Control Administration (APDCA) and police department for their collective action to crackdown spurious drug racket on Thursday.

The Drugs Control General (I) gave commendation certificates to the investigation team and the same was handed over through the Vijayawada Commissioner of police to the officers on Tuesday.

Earlier, the APDCA officers and the police department jointly conducted investigation to crackdown the network of spurious drug rackets. After thorough investigations for about three months it was found that the spurious drug rackets were spread to all major cities in the country.

The investigation team jointly collected the data of all the accused involved in the drugs scam and made a road map to take further investigation. In this regard, APDCA consulted Central Drug Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) and Drug Control General (India) to extend their support and cooperation to the investigation team. Later, the police arrested the drug racket and persons involved in it.

Following are the members, who received commendation certificates-APDCA Director General Dr A Ravi Shankar, DCA Guntur Assistant Director S Vijaya Kumar, One Town Circle Inspector D Kasi Viswanath, Drug Inspectors from Guntur P Mangamma, Ch Hari Prasad, P Ramesh Reddy, P Sri Rama Murthy and S Venkata Naga Padma, Task Force SI of Vijayawada G Srinivas, One Town SI Sk Nadina Basha and Cyber Crime SI V Srinivas.
