Tirupati: Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) IG M Kantha Rao said that Tamil Nadu-based smugglers of red sanders logs were changing their mindset after conducting counselling.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, the IG said that task force police teams have been visiting the Javadi Malai areas of Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu state for the last four years and explaining about ill-effects of smuggling.
Recently, villagers of Kanna Mangalam of Javadi Malai have passed a resolution unanimously that in future nobody should enter the Seshchalam forest for smuggling of red sanders logs, the IG stated.
