Loans to street vendors soon
Municipal administration minister P Narayana said the government would disburse Rs 15,000 loan per each street vendor to around 1,000 people by March-end. Addressing a programme on Saturday, he said 400 street vendors are being provided the support during the first phase.

He said they had identified 1.74 lakh street vendors across 110 municipalities in the state that includes 7,300 in 7 municipalities in Nellore district. He said there were around 5,568 street vendors alone in Nellore city. He also said they would be providing 54 JCBs to each person from the division in the city and would be provided works in Amaravati.
He said they would develop municipal schools on par with Narayana schools and mega organisations like L&T are providing basic amenities in schools. He said they had earmarked Rs 50 crore for the civic schools in the budget. He handed over cheques to the street vendors during the programme. Mayor Aziz, Mepma MD China Tataiah, Municipal Commissioner Alim Basha and Vijaya Dairy Chairman Vijaya Dairy K Rangareddy were present.
