A team from Silk Airways visited Vijayawawa airport and held discussions with airport director Madhusudhana Rao about the amenities and the facilities. They examined parking bays, runway, terminal and immigration and customs sections. The Singapore-based organization runs international flight services to all parts of the world.

The State Government has assured minimum seat guarantee for the services. In the event of there being not enough passengers, the state Government would compensate the Silk Airways. The airways will operate services to Singapore and Malaysia. Meanwhile, Air India Express is working to launch flight services to Dubai and Sharjah within 45 days.
