Chandrababu Naidu promises to ensure monthly income of 10,000 for the poor
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the state government was committed to make sure that every poor family in the state gets income of at least Rs 10,000 per month.
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the state government was committed to make sure that every poor family in the state gets income of at least Rs 10,000 per month. Speaking in Assembly on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said the government took several measures for the development of poor in the last four years.
He said 46 lakh social security pensions were given under NTR Bharosa scheme and Chandranna Bima scheme was being implemented to provide financial support to the families when the breadwinner of the family died.
He said the government targeted construction of 20 lakh houses in the state and also determined to make the state open-defecation free. Stating that women empowerment was one of the top priorities of the government, the Chief Minister said the government was taking steps for
overall development of women and also wants the DWACRA women to play a major role in achieving the government’s ambition that every poor family in the state earns at least Rs 10,000 a month.
He said the DWACRA women should be given training in this regard to work as per the vision of the government on ensuring minimum income to every family. “I have more confidence in DWACRA women. They should be a driving force in realising government’s aim of providing minimum income to every family,” he said.
He also said eliminating malnutrition and anaemia related problems among women was another important issue. He explained the welfare schemes being implemented for women. “Thalli Bidda express, Amma Amruta Hastam, Basavatarakam kit, sanitary napkins to 1.60 crore women, bicycles for girl students of Class VIII and some other schemes are exclusively formulated for the welfare of women. The government is committed to the empowerment of women,” he said.
He also reminded that TDP provided 33 per cent reservation to women in jobs. He also said the government had decided to implement Chandranna Pelli Kanuak scheme for girls under which Rs 45,000 to ST families, Rs 40,000 in SC families and Rs 35,000 to BC families would be given on the occasion of marriages.
He further said the state government distributes 46 lakh social security pensions under NTR Bharosa scheme and the number of pensions would be increased depending on requirement.
