Guntur: YSRCP president and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy assured that he will give free power to vegetable crops, green chillies and flower gardens if his party is voted to power in the 2019 Assembly elections.

He continued his Praja Sankalapa Yatra in the Bapatla Assembly constituency in Guntur district on 111th day on Tuesday. When the farmers explained to him the problems they were facing regarding power supply, Jagan assured that he would provide free power to the vegetable crops.

MPTC Sailaja Reddy told him that the State government instead of giving free power, was only providing seven hours power supply. She complained that the officials were not digging the bore pumps under the Jalasiri scheme to save the standing crops. She said vegetable gardens in Bapatla area require more water.

She requested free motors for the poor farmers. A differently-abled woman Jayasri met Jagan and complained that the district administration is not sanctioning a ration shop to her though she is eligible for it. She said she had filed an application and met the District Collector. But she is yet to get any response from the district administration, she said.

Kota Ramesh Reddy, a youth looking for a job, informed Jagan that he completed BA.B.Ed and is yet to secure a job. He said the TDP government failed to keep its promise of providing jobs to the unemployed youth.

Nagamalleswawari (60) informed Jagan that her husband died and she had no property. She had applied for pension and made several rounds to the MDO office to get it sanctioned. But she is yet to receive the pension, she said. She also told the YSRCP chief that she was also deprived of a house though she had submitted an application to the government under the housing scheme.
