Eluru: Zilla Parishad Chairman Mullapudi Bapiraju said digital classrooms would be established at a cost of Rs 1.10 crore in 204 Zilla Parishad High Schools in West Godavari district. He reviewed the educational progress at the standing meeting of Zila Parishad here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan project officer has decided to set up digital classrooms in 204 schools. The Zilla Parishad will spend Rs 50 lakhs out of the total cost and remaining Rs 60 lakhs would be collected from the donors. He said that several donors came forward to donate to the digital classrooms in 107 schools.

The Zilla Parishad Chairman handed over the cheque for Rs 10 lakhs to Sarva Siksha Abhiyan project officer Brahmananda Reddy on the occasion. Former Union Minister Bolla Buliramaiah’s grandson Rajiv donated cash for setting up of digital classrooms, the Zilla Parishad Chairman said.

Later, the Standing Committee meeting paid tributes to Bolla Buliramaih who passed away recently at Tanuku and observed two minutes silence. Zilla Parisahd CEO D Satyanarayana, ZPTC members Chintala Venkata Ramana, Manne Lalita Devi, Kasaraneni Vidyasagar, Garapati Sridevi and others participated in the meeting.
