Nellore: Dotted lands and regularisation of encroached lands were giving jitters to the people as the revenue authorities are wilfully neglecting directions of the state government even though a GO was released liberalising the guidelines to streamline or regularise them.

Consequently, unrest is being expressed by aggrieved people. Freshly, tension prevailed for some time in Atmakur town when a farmer climbed a cell tower threatening to commit suicide if his demand was not met.

He asked the government to regularise the dotted land for which he had applied online. Police and revenue authorities, who rushed to the spot, assured him to resolve the issue. According to sources, Malisetty Mahesh (29), a farmer from Balija Street in Atmakur town had applied for regularisation of the dotted land of 3.5 acres. But, the revenue authorities failed to regularise his land even though he had applied online.

With this, he climbed a cell tower near Bus Stand Centre in Atmakur. On receiving the information, farmers and local people gathered in huge number at the tower. Another farmer, M Sridhar, said that the government had asked to apply for regularisation of dotted lands.

But, the revenue authorities had failed to take any action. Tahsildar Subbaiah assured Mahesh that they would take the issue to the notice of the District Collector and resolve it. With the assurance of Tahsildar, the farmer came down from the cell tower. Finally, Atmakur cops took Mahesh and Sridhar into custody.
