Nellore: Local BJP leaders demanded CBI probe into Polavaram Project works. Speaking to the media at the party office here on Thursday, BJP state executive member M Ramesh said water would be allocated according to verdict of the Bachawat Tribunal only after completion of Polavaram works and there would be possibility of 80 tmcft of water can be diverted to Pattiseema LI Scheme.

He questioned as to how the state government would divert 105 tmcft of water to Pattiseema Scheme this year violating the existing guidelines. He alleged that the government is telling lies in the Assembly deceiving the people. In fact, the Krishna Delta had received only 60 tmcft of water, he explained.

Further, he also criticised Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao for telling lies that 90 tmcft of water from Pattiseema was shifted to Rayalaseema for their needs. The BJP leaders K Jaganmohan Rao, Suresh Naidu and others were present.
