Ongole: Christians observed Good Friday in Prakasam district on Friday. The churches in the district were congregated by the believers who read psalms and the gospel and sang hymns praising the lord.

The Jewett Memorial Baptist Church, Bible Mission Church, Bethlehem Prayer Mandir, RCM Church, Covenant Prayer Center, Seventh Day Prayer Tower etc in Ongole, Kothapatnam, Alluru and other rural villages of Ongole organised processions with the Christians enacting Jesus Christ carrying the cross for crucifixion at Calvary hill.

In Giddalur town, the local MLA, Muthumula Ashok Reddy carried the cross for some time to express his faith in Jesus Christ and as a respect to the believers. The RCM Church reverend Baburao, Reverend Ramana, Fr Rajasekhar, Giddalur mandal TDP president Bandi Venkata Swamy and others participated in the procession with the MLA.

The churches in Cumbum, Bestavaripet, Ardhaveedu mandals also organised processions in the villages carrying the cross. The St Anthony Church in Mariyammapet in Chirala observed Good Friday with devotion. The church organised the procession from ROB to the RCM Church and offered prayers.

The Lurdhumatha Church in Karemchedu, Baptist Church in Ulichi and other places also organised the processions to portray the pain that Jesus Christ took to save human beings on earth from sin.
