Son of former minister Vasantha Nageswara Rao and senior Congress leader Vasantha Krishna Prasad is all set to join the YSRCP. Krishna Prasad, who has been in consultation with the YSRCP leaders, is likely to join the YSRCP during YS Jagan’s tour of Krishna district as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra.

Krishna Prasad had contested on Congress ticket in 1999 and lost. Then in 2014, he joined the TDP, but was not given party ticket. Instead, he was asked to work for TDP leader Tangirala Prabhakar Rao’s victory in Nandigama. After Tangirala’s death, he kept away from politics and did not take part in the bypolls. Ever since, he has been involved in social service activities.

YS Jagan, with whom he had close business links, asked Krishna Prasad to join the YSRCP. It now emerges that Krishna Prasad has made up his mind and is all set to join the YSRCP. Sources say he could contest for the assembly from Mylavaram or for the Lok Sabha from Vijayawada.
