Kakinada: District Educational Officer S Abraham informed that they have selected 250 schools in the district which have Green Corps and Eco-clubs.The DEO unveiled a wall poster on the World Earth Day to be held on April 22 at his office here on Thursday.

Speaking on this occasion, the DEO said that the theme of this year’s World Earth Day is to end the plastic pollution.

He said that his department had donated Rs 5,000 to each of all these 250 schools to organize the environmental activities in their schools. He directed all the headmasters that they should conduct eco-protection activities in the schools. He also directed them to conduct awareness programmes on the hazards of plastic usage. He called upon all the headmasters in the district to observe the World Earth Day under the aegis of AP National Green Corps.

Green Corps district coordinator Kesari Srinivasa Rao informed that they would conduct environmental conservation activities in every school under the supervision of eco-clubs that were constituted in the schools.DRP KVSS Prasad, MVS Ramakrishna and others participated in the programme.
