D Venkatramaiah who led the agitation, said about 20,000 workers were serving the people across the state and the Panchayat workers were the real soldiers of the Swachh Bharat scheme to keep the villages clean, green and hygienic. He said if the government does not respond to their demands, they would intensify their strike and continue an indefinite strike across the state.

K UmamheswaraRao, general secretary, Sridhar Reddy, secretary, G Pulla Rao, Prabhu Das and others participated in the protest.
