Tirupati: TTD Trust Board Chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav accompanied by board members Challa Ramachandra Reddy and Sudha Narayana Murthy visited the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) hospital on Wednesday.

SVIMS Director cum Vice-Chancellor Dr TS Ravikumar presented a brief genesis of SVIMS to them. He underlined the major achievements of SVIMS in the past 25 years and presented the budgetary requirement of the hospital for its development and maintenance. He made a proposal for establishment of salary budget which is not yet made available for the SVIMS.

Sudhakar Yadav asked the Director to send a brief note on financial aid that was approved in the governing council and executive board so that he can follow it up. “SVIMS has been delivering services to the poor in this region and we extend our support for its further development,” Yadav assured.

The Chairman and board members expressed concerns about the finances of the SVIMS and promised to provide Rs 50 crore salary budget and Rs 15 crore maintenance budget for the development of the Institute. He asked the SVIMS management to publicise the 24X7 patient care numbers so that the patients can easily avail the services at SVIMS.

Board member Sudha Murthy observed that the requirement of salary budget was genuine and a meeting will soon be organised to discuss the matter. SVIMS Registrar Dr TC Kalawat, Dean Dr PVLN Srinivasa Rao, Medical Superintendent Dr Alok Sachan and the faculty, administrative heads were present.
