Vijayawada: The city turned yellow with big size hoardings and flexies being erected by the TDP leaders for the forthcoming three-day Mahanadu from May 27. All the flexies and banners were dotted with the pictures of party founder the Late NT Rama Rao, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Minister for Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh, along with local leaders.

The leaders of TDP, including MLAs started erection of hoardings at all the important centres in the city. The upcoming leaders occupied more space by setting up of large size hoardings competing with the seniors.

Indeed, the leaders started erection of hoardings almost 10 days ago. Devineni Avinash, son of former minister Devineni Rajasekhar (Nehru), who is keen to contest for the Assembly or Parliament, has set up hoardings in front of Pandit Nehru Bus Station to draw the attention of commuters and also important VIPs.

Interestingly, his cousin Devineni Chandrasekhar also erected hoardings at various centres in the city. He is also in the race for the ticket with the support of Nara Lokesh.

On the other hand, MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani), MLAs Gadde Rammohan, Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and Vijayawada Urban TDP president and MLC Budda Venkanna also erected hoardings relatively occupying less space.

The followers of the legislators set up hoardings, which are visible at vantage points in the city. The hoardings and flexies are erected throughout the stretch of Mahatma Gandhi Road, Kanaka Durga Varadhi, Krishnalanka Highway Road, One Town and several other centres. The entire road from Ramavarapupadu Ring Centre to Benz Circle is also adorned with yellow colour flags and festoons.

The TDP is taking it as prestigious, wants to organise the Mahanadu successfully. The party wants to send a good message to the people by explaining the government schemes, efforts and future plans.

The city hosted two Mahanadus so far and wants to host the third meeting also, said MLC Janardhan. Speaking to The Hans India, he said that the Mahanadu would explain to the people about measures taken up by the government for the welfare of the people and development of the state in the last four years.
