NRI donates Rs 30 lakh for digital classrooms
A Non-Resident Indian (NRI) has donated Rs 30 lakh to set up digital literacy classrooms in Zilla Parishad High Schools in the district.
Eluru: A Non-Resident Indian (NRI) has donated Rs 30 lakh to set up digital literacy classrooms in Zilla Parishad High Schools in the district.
Komati Jayaram, a North America Andhra Pradesh State Government representative met District Collector K Bhaskar at his chamber on Wednesday along with ZP Chairman Mullapudi Bapiraju. He handed over a cheque for Rs 30 lakh to the Collector. He assured that another sum of Rs10 lakh would also be donated by NRIs soon.
While thanking Komati Jayaram for donating the amount for digital literacy classes, District Collector said that several donors were ready to donate for the digital classrooms establishment.
While congratulating the efforts of Jayaram to bring more funds through donations to set up digital classrooms in all districts, the Collector said that already steps had been taken to establish digital classrooms in 334 ZP High Schools with the Government and donors funds in the district.
He said that the education-related speeches from eminent personalities would be telecast to the digital classrooms from the real-time Governance building’s special studio. The real-time governance building was now under construction, he added.
