Rape attempt on minor again in Guntur district

The spate of rapes against minor girls is continuing in Guntur district. Another incident of a rape attempt against an eight-year-old girl has to come to light in Siripuram village of Medikonduru mandal in Guntur district.

According to the police, a minor boy, who lives closeby, has entered into the victim’s house when her mother went out for farm work. The boy, said to be aged around 15 years, tried to remove the girl’s clothes and tried to rape her. But, the girl managed to raise an alarm forcing the boy to flee. She told about the incident to her mother after she came from the farm work. She also showed the injury marks on her body.

The girl approached the leaders of the caste group, who imposed some penalty on the boy’s family. Upset with their verdict, the girl’s mother approached the police on Thursday and lodged a complaint. The police registered a case and sent the girl for medical examination.
