Tadipatri (Anantapur): Emotionally moved by the plight of three girl children orphaned by cruel fate in a sequence of tragedies which struck their loving parents, the local MLA J C Prabhakar Reddy came forward to take total care of the destitute children, all 10 years and below. The magnanimity of Prabhakar and his wife gave the children an unexpected hope who could not see light at the other end of the tunnel.

Tragedy first struck Babu's brother and his sister-in-law, who succumbed to cancer one after other in quick succession. When their only daughter was reduced to an orphan, Babu took care of her along with his two daughters.

Recently Babu's wife pregnant with a child breathed her last while delivering a dead child. With the cruel fate snatching away the beloved mother of the three children, Babu took to consuming alcohol to forget his agony. On Monday, Babu too left to eternal shores while fishing and drowning in a lake. Babu and his brother migrated to Tadipatri from Kadapa, a decade ago.

J C Prabhakar and his wife, well known locally for their humane and charitable acts spontaneously reacted to crisis situations. His charity institutions creeps into every dark sphere of human challenges and rehabilitates destitute and orphans and those senior citizens spurned by their sons and daughters.

He is also feeding 650 senior citizens both men and women spurned by their children and driven out of their homes. Once in a week, he feeds them with non-vegetarian menu. “I do not visit the senior citizens rehabilitation centre founded by me as most of them known to him feel embarrassed to eat the food provided by me,” he muttered wondering at the cruelty, the senior citizens were being subjected to, in the evening of their life by their inhuman offspring.

Rajendra, in his 70s, who have two sons well settled abroad had totally deserted him. He sleeps at public shelters and eats the food provided by Prabhakar's Charity Foundation. Rajya Lakshmi and her husband Raghavendra struggling for survival, who were spurned by sons says talking of the magnanimity of the JC Brothers, that the men of iron and steel have a soft and compassionate heart and are sensitive to societal needs.
