Madakasira (Anantapur): IT and Panchayat Raj Minister Nara Lokesh has stated that despite bifurcation challenges, the TDP government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu has done a lot for the people on the development and welfare front.

A staggering of 54 lakh farmers benefitted by the farm loan waiver. He said that 1,700 km Cement Concrete (CC) roads are being laid in the state at a cost of Rs 3,500 crore. The Minister said that Rs 22,000 crore are being spent on the providing of protected drinking water to every household in the state.

He observed that the Kia Motors project in the district would change the face of the district and trigger in an industrial revolution. The government has earmarked Rs 12,000 crore for implementing the payment of unemployment dole to the 21-lakh jobless youth in the state, as part of fullfiling the party's election promise. The Minister sanctioned Rs 100 crore for boosting road connectivity in Madakasira. He lauded DWMA for constructing 1 lakh farm ponds in the district and standing first in the country.

Earlier, Nara Lokesh laid the foundation stone for construction of panchayat office building, an agriculture godown and a primary health centre at Gunnamalla panchayat village.

Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh stated that he had sanctioned Rs 500 crore for supplying protected drinking water to every home in the district and also for laying CC roads to every village in all the 63 mandals of the district. He mentioned that the roads and water scheme would be completed by the year 2020.

District in-charge Minister Devineni Umaamaheshwara Rao, Women and Child Welfare Minister Paritala Sunitha, Kadiri MLA Chand Basha, Puttaparthi MLA Palle Raghunatha Reddy and MLC Payyavula Keshav were among those who were present.
