Vijayawada: The leaders of the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association on Monday strongly condemned the assault on association president P Ashok Babu, general secretary P Chandrasekhar Reddy and other members in Hyderabad by T-NGOs leaders and Gachibowli housing society members.

Leaders of the APNGOs Association from various parts of the State met at the State office in Gandhinagar on Monday and decided to
take the issue to the notice of Governor E S L Narasimhan and the Union government.

The APNGOs Association Krishna district president A Vidya Sagar demanded that cases should be registered and accused should be arrested for attacking Ashok Babu and other NGO leaders in Hyderabad on Sunday.

He said the representatives of Bhagya Nagar Housing Society and Telangana NGOs Association leaders attacked the APNGOs association leaders when they attended a meeting at the housing society office in Hyderabad.

Vidya Sagar alleged that the Telangana government was creating problems to the APNGOs Association because the Association has been fighting legally to get the rights on the housing plots.

He said the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh government allotted 200 acres land to APNGOs. He made it clear that the APNGOs have a right on the land and they would fight for it at any cost.

He said the Central government had appointed the Governor for two States and it is the responsibility of the Governor to provide protection to the APNGOs leaders in Hyderabad.

He further said that the assault on P Ashok Babu and other leaders is the attack on the five crore Telugu people living in Andhra Pradesh. NGOs Association leaders from other districts also spoke on the occasion.
