Visakhapatnam: The Andhra University has signed an MoU with Indian Air Force to award PG diploma in management to all passing out flying officers of all branches including flying, aeronautical engineering, finance, accounts, logistics, administration, education, and meteorology.

On the occasion of passing out parade of Flying Officers, the Indian Air Force has invited a delegation of Andhra University led by Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao to Air Force Academy. Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, Chief of Air Staff of India, reviewed the parade.

Speaking on the occasion, VC Nageswara Rao said Andhra University became the first university in India to sign the MoU with IAF. With the historical pact, all the newly commissioned officers of IAF would be alumni of Andhra University. Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa described Andhra University as one of the best universities in India.

Senior officers of IAF including Commanding-in-Chief of Training Command, Bangalore, Air Marshal SRK Nair, Commandant of Air Force Academy, Hyderabad Air Marshal Amit Tiwari and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Education), New Delhi, Air Vice Marshal LN Sharma were present during the MoU ceremony.

The Vice Chancellor handed over the proceedings of the Andhra University Academic Senate to Air Marshal Nair regarding awarding of PG diplomas to airmen.
