Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Thursday formally accepted the resignations of five YSR Congress MPs YV Subba Reddy, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Varaprasad, P Mithun Reddy and YS Avinash Reddy.

New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Thursday formally accepted the resignations of five YSR Congress MPs YV Subba Reddy, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Varaprasad, P Mithun Reddy and YS Avinash Reddy.

According to a bulletin issued by the Lok Sabha secretariat the resignations have been accepted with effect from June 19. The YSRCP MPs had resigned in protest against the centres failure to accord special category status. The MPs are likely to meet YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy either on Saturday or on Sunday and would decide on the proposed bus yatra.

According to analysts the resignation of these MPs will not lead to by election.
