Rythu Sangham protest at mandal headquarters on June 27
Andhra Pradesh Rytu Sangham president P Ramachandraiah, secretary KV Prasad said that they would hold protests at all mandal headquarters across the State on June 27. Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, they said the farmers were unable to bear the burden with increasing prices of petrol, diesel and fertilisers.
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Rytu Sangham president P Ramachandraiah, secretary KV Prasad said that they would hold protests at all mandal headquarters across the State on June 27. Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, they said the farmers were unable to bear the burden with increasing prices of petrol, diesel and fertilisers.
They said that the governments neglected implementation of the recommendations of Swaminathan Commission though they gave assurance during the elections. They said that the farmers were spending Rs 2,000 as additional expenditure due to petrol and diesel price hike.
They asked the government to provide 50 per cent subsidy on tractors, engines and crop-harvesting machinery. They said that the governments also failed to provide minimum support price to various crops.
The Rythu Sangham demanded that the State government should pay Rs 15,000 as agriculture expenditure based on the model of Telangana government’s scheme. They asked the farmers and public to take part in the protest in large numbers to mount pressure on the government.
