Visakhapatnam: On occasion of their first visit to the Port City, Union Minister of State for Shipping P Radhakrishna and Union Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Mansukh L Mandaviya participated in the Swachh Bharat programme here on the beachfront on Thursday.

The ministers, along with the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and senior officials of the Ministry of Shipping, were present in the beach cleaning programme which was started at Ramakrishna Beach.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister appealed to Vizagites to maintain the city clean. The Central government’s initiative Swachh Bharat is aiming to make the country clean and green, the ministers said. Later, the ministers inaugurated the beach volleyball tournament which is being organised by the Visakhapatnam Port Trust.
