Vijayawada: Family members of Movva Guruva Reddy, 27, who committed suicide on July 2, in Krishnalanka staged a dharna in front of Krishnalanka police station on Sunday demanding that the police arrest the culprits responsible for the death of Guruva Reddy.

Upset with the failure of married life and alleged infidelity by wife Gayatri, the victim committed suicide by jumping in front of the running train in Vijayawada.

Two weeks after the death of the youth, the police did not arrest Gayatri and her parents. In a selfie video taken by Guruva Reddy before the death, he had alleged that his wife and in-laws were responsible for his death.

The video went viral and shocked the people particularly the residents of Krishnalanka. Enraged with the inaction of the police in arresting the accused, parents and relatives of the deceased staged a dharna in front of Krishnanlanka police station more than an hour on Sunday. Police pacified them assuring that they would arrest the accused.
