Visakhapatnam: Principal Secretary (Tourism) Mukesh Kumar Meena directed the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) to prepare designs clubbing prestigious attractions INS Kursura and Aircraft Museums into an Integrated Museum Complex.
Mukhesh Kumar Meena on Wednesday convened a meeting with Vice-Chairman of VUDA Basanth Kumar and other key officials and discussed about the Integrated Museum Complex. Speaking on the occasion, he said that submarine and aircraft museums are not only icons of Vizag icons but also icons of the state.
These attractions should be developed as international tourist attractions. Visakhapatnam is having a huge potential to develop more tourism attractions. The VUDA should utilise the resources and develop more attractions, he suggested. The AP Tourism was in fifth place in the country in 2014 and now reached third place in 2018.
The department is striving to secure first place in the next three years. The department prepared action plan to reach the target, Meena said. During the meeting, Vice-Chairman of VUDA explained about the plans and designs of the Integrated Museum Complex through a PowerPoint presentation to the tourism secretary.
