Hyderabad Bonalu Utsava Committee offered golden Bonam to Vijayawada Kanaka Durga
As part of continuing the tradition of presenting Bonalu to Goddess Kanaka Durga, the Hyderbad Bonalu Utsava Committee offered golden Bonam on Sunday with gaiety Hyderabadbased committee is continuing the tradition since bifurcation of the state and has been offering prayers for the Wellbeing of two Telugu states
Vijayawada: As part of continuing the tradition of presenting Bonalu to Goddess Kanaka Durga, the Hyderbad Bonalu Utsava Committee offered golden Bonam on Sunday with gaiety. Hyderabad-based committee is continuing the tradition since bifurcation of the state and has been offering prayers for the Well-being of two Telugu states.
In all, 300 devotees both men and women attired in the traditional dresses took out a procession from endowments office to temple abode Indrakeeladri. The devotees sang the Bonalu songs with drum beats and dances to reach the temple on Indrakeeladri.
Speaking on the occasion, Hyderabad Bonalu Utsava Committee member Gajula Anjaiah said they offered golden Bonam, bangles and other traditional offerings to Goddess Kanaka Durga.
He said for the first time, the committee offered golden Bonam to Goddess and offered prayers for the peace and prosperity of the Telugu speaking states. He wished that the BJP led NDA government accord special category status to Andhra Pradesh and help for all-round development of the state.
