Special officers to be appointed for all Panchayats at Kakinada

Kakinada: The Government has issued a GO number 90, appointing special officers to all village Panchayats in the state which came into force from Thursday.

As part of it, as many as 1,027 village Panchayats in the district came under special officer rule in the district and elections were not held to 42 village Panchayats out of 1,067 Panchayats in the district.

All the 1,067 villages Panchayats were dividied into 779 clusters and one special officer will be appointed for each cluster and the special officers will assume charge in a day or two.

Officials of various departments such as Panchayat Raj, Education, Engineering, Agriculture and other departments will be appointed as special officers as per the directions of the government.
