Donate organs, people urged

Tirupati: Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) has conducted an organ donation awareness rally here on Friday as part of organ donation awareness week. The staff and students of College of Nursing, College of Physiotherapy, SP Medical College for Women have participated in the rally responding to the call by Jeevandan Trust.
The in-charge Director cum Vice-Chancellor of SVIMS Dr M Hanumantha Rao flagged off the rally which went up to TTD’s Mahati Auditorium. He said of all donations organ donation was great and sacred as one person through organ donation can give re-birth to several persons.
Without having any myths, everyone should come forward to pledge for organ donation. It is extremely important to bring awareness among people about organ donation so that more and more people respond positively. Dr TC Kalavat, Dr V Sivakumar, Dr Anju, Dr Sudha Rani and others took part in the rally.
