Vijayawada: The first two fixtures of the three-nation Quadrangular series featuring India A, India B, South Africa A and Australia A which was set to commence on August 17 at Mulapadu Cricket grounds was called off due to heavy rain in the region and each team was given one point and the remaining matches will be played as per schedule, said CR Mohan ACA media coordinator here on Friday.

He said that the match officials on consultation with the ground curator S Sriram had reached to a consensus that the ground condition was not suitable for play for the next two days.

As a result, matches on the August 17 (reserve day) which were scheduled to take place between India A and Australia A, India B and South Africa A had to be called off.

The concerned team managements have informed the same to the match officials. The rest of the fixtures will continue as per schedule from August 19, said Mohan.
