Vijayawada: As part of its constant efforts to enhance energy efficiency activities at national level, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE- a statutory body of the Union Ministry of Power) has invited proactive States like Andhra Pradesh to enter into MoU with it for capacity building of power distribution companies (DISCOMs).

  • The objective is to ensure that DISCOMs supply quality and cost effective power

The BEE is going to launch the programme of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing meeting at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) on August 31.

Around 62 DISCOMs across the country have expressed willingness to sign MoUs under “Capacity Building of DISCOMs” programme of Bureau of Energy Efficiency.

Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and some other States will sign MoU in Hyderabad on August 31. The objective of the programme is capacity building of Distribution Companies (DISCOMs) for load management, energy conservation, load growth programme, development of Demand Side Management (DSM) action plan and implementation of DSM activities.

Abhay Bhakre, Director General, BEE, Ministry of power, Government of India, wrote a letter to Ajay Jain, Principal Secretary, and CRDA, about the signing of MoU in Hyderabad. Explaining the benefits of MoU, Abhay Bhakre said the agreement will increase the quality of power supply with effective management and distribution.
