Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress Party supremo and Opposition Leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy announced that if the YSRCP is voted to power, Visakhapatnam district would be divided into two districts and Anakapalle would be made a separate district.

As part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, Jagan addressed a massive crowd at Anakapalle on Wednesday. As the entire Anakapalle town was flooded with YSRCP activists and supporters, the shops and other establishments voluntarily closed after the lunch session.

Before starting his address, Jagan paid tributes to TDP leader and former minister N Harikrishna who died in a road accident. Continuing his charge on his political rival and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan pointed out that no one in the State wants TDP to come to power again.

He said as no development had taken place in the State during the rule of TDP during the last four years, Chandrababu Naidu had started a new campaign ‘Malli Nuvve Ravali Babu’ (Babu should come to power again).

“But, people representing all walks of life in the State are expressing their anger on TDP and Naidu and they have been waiting to teach him a lesson in the 2019 elections,” Jagan said.

Anakapalle is the second largest jaggery market in the country. As there is no support from the government to the sugarcane farmers the production had come down to 50 per cent, he alleged.

Jagan assured the farmers and sugar factory workers that after coming to the power he would ensure minimum support price and strengthen the sugar factories.
