Pithapuram: Assistant Director of Agriculture GV Padmasri said that famers can reduce their investment on crops by adopting methods like preparing the seeds in their fields. 

She distributed paddy seeds and fertilizers sponsored by the Reliance Foundation, to the farmers, here on Wednesday. 

She appreciated the foundation for supplying five kg quality seeds. She told the farmers to make use of this opportunity and produce quality seeds out of this. 

You need not to rely on private dealers and avoid spurious seeds, she said. Representative of the foundation B Peddiraju said that they have distributed eight kg seeds to 1500 farmers. 

He said that almost 500 kg seeds can be produced with the given 5kg of seed bag. 

He also said that 2500 dairy farmers were given Ajola and vermicompost units and 1000 farmers were given farm tools and fertilizers for free of cost.
