Rajamahendravaram: Internal games commenced at the Godavari Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET) here on Wednesday. They will be continued up to September 25 for boys and girls.
The GIET principal Dr PMMS Sarma said that games such as cricket, kabaddi and volleyball would be conducted for boys and kho kho and throw ball would be held for girls.
He underlined the need to spare some time everyday for games which helps to increase competitive spirit, to maintain sound health and also helps
to get identity in short span along with getting jobs in sports quota.
The management was encouraging games and sports in the college and many students were playing at state and national level games and sports meets.
Vice-principal DR SG Reddy and others were present.
