Visakhapatnam: Heavy to very heavy rains and thunderstorm accompanied with lighting threat to the coastal Andhra Pradesh district in the next 48-hours. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) alerted the state government to very careful in the next two-days across the coastal Andhra region very particularly north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
According to the IMD’s alerts, Heavy Rains and thunderstorm accompanied with lighting very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of coastal Andhra Pradesh starting Wednesday evening onwards.
The condition will be intensified with Heavy to very heavy rains with extremely heavy falls and thunderstorm accompanied with lighting very likely to occur at isolated places in the coastal Andhra Pradesh on Thursday and Friday, the IMD alerted the state government.

The system is likely to move west-northwestwards towards north Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts during in the next two days. State of the sea would be rough,” the IMD said.
Meanwhile, Collector, Visakhapatnam Pravin Kumar in an urgent circular, directed all the Tahasildars, Revenue Divisional Officers and all the line department heads to stay at their respective headquarters and monitor the situation to take necessary precautions. A command communication centre with 1800-4250-0002 will work 24/7 during the emergency, the collector said.
