Vijayawada: As part of ongoing Ganesh Navaratri festival, Bala Ganapati Swamy appeared as Vidya Ganapati in One-Town temple here on Thursday.
The temple priests performed special Sahasramodika pujas on the occasion. The priests also performed pujas for students on the special occasion.
Later, Gorthi Satyavati Charitable Trust founder and TDP urban vice-president G Srinivas and Bonda Sujatha, wife of Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao distributed books, pens, fruits and eatables to the students.
G Srinivas spoke on the occasion and said Clay Ganesh Idol was installed at the temple to protect the environment.
He said that books were distributed to about 3,000 students through their trust, he added.
Trust members M Venugopala Rao, M Krishna Rao, K Venkateswarulu, A Sridevi and others were present.
